THE BOTANICAL GARDEN – A SPACE FOR SCIENCE, CULTURE AND NATURE

The Jardí Botànic of the University of Valencia is a living museum located in the historic centre of the city. It is a public university space dedicated to promoting the plant world through study, education, dissemination and conservation, as well as encouraging sustainable use.
The garden maintains scientific collections of living plants and preserves over 200 years of continuous cultivation, including monumental trees and architectural heritage. It also continues Valencia’s botanical tradition dating back to the 16th century, when the university created a medicinal garden.
Spread across approximately 4 hectares, visitors can explore plants from around the world, from exotic landscapes to Mediterranean flora. The garden contributes to research on biodiversity, conservation of rare and endangered species, and protection of natural habitats.
