Wine Tours – Bodegas, Vineyards & Gastronomy
After a few days in Valencia city, it’s wonderful to head into the countryside – fresh air, vineyards, and of course a good glass of wine.
What to expect
- Visits to wineries in the Valencia region
- Tastings of wines made from local grapes such as Bobal
- Lunch among the vineyards or in a historic wine estate
- Option to add cultural or seasonal activities
The experience
We organise visits to wineries mainly in the Valencia region – day trips from the city or with an overnight stay in one of the historic estates.
Valencia used to be known for bulk wine – cheap, high volume, low quality – but those days are over. Today, internationally recognised wineries such as Hispano Suizas, Mustiguillo and Vera de Estenas produce top wines and Cavas. You can visit these as part of a day trip, or even a half-day.
Most wine excursions are private (for one person or more), but you can also join another group if there’s space. Several wineries are wheelchair-accessible, and we can arrange transport for reduced mobility.
Wine regions
The main wine areas of Valencia are just about an hour’s drive from the city. We often go to Utiel–Requena, famous for the red Bobal grape, but we can also visit Terres dels Alforins (60 km south of Valencia), Castellón or even Alicante – all with fantastic wines.
